Battle has done extensive strategic work for companies as diverse as Amazon, American Council on Education, the Blair Corporation, Public Radio International, Scholastic, The Sesame Workshop and Time-Life Books; he has led multi-year acquisitions programs for US organizations (National Geographic’s School Publishing division, for example) as well as international companies like Torstar/Harlequin (Toronto) and Bayard Presse (Paris).

He has assisted in strategic divestitures (for companies like The Walt Disney Company,
Coldwater Creek and Williams Sonoma,for example). He has conceived and negotiated licensing deals, joint ventures
and strategic partnerships for a number of organizations, most recently for American Council on Education and The
National Geographic Society (see below).
